West Ham United Women have confirmed that defender Camila Saez has joined Bristol City on a season-long loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
The Chilean international remains under contract with the Hammers but will spend the next year in the West Country.
Saez, who turns 31 in October, is an experienced centre-back with over 70 caps for Chile. She has represented her country at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Olympic Games, and multiple Copa America tournaments.
At club level, she arrived at West Ham from Madrid CFF last summer having made 29 appearances in the 2023/24 Liga F season.
Before that, she enjoyed spells with Rayo Vallecano and Deportivo Alaves in Spain, as well as a successful period in her homeland with Colo-Colo, winning several league titles.
Her loan to Bristol City comes at a time when West Ham have strengthened their defensive options, making competition for places fierce under head coach Rehanne Skinner.
The move is expected to provide Saez with consistent game time in the Women’s Super League, ensuring she remains sharp at both club and international level following her involvement in this summer’s Copa America Femenina.
Speaking on the decision, head coach Rehanne Skinner said: “Camila is a top professional with a huge amount of experience, and it’s important she’s playing regularly at this stage of her career.
"This loan will give her the opportunity to do that in the WSL, and we’ll be following her progress closely. She’ll come back to us sharper and ready to contribute."
