Newcastle United could allow a talented youngster to leave the club on loan this summer.
Naturally, much of the focus on Newcastle’s potential outgoings ahead of transfer window deadline day on Monday evening will be centred around Alexander Isak.
Still, the wantaway Sweden star is not the only story to follow. Indeed, there could be other departures as well as incomings.
The Newcastle United academy boasts some exciting talents but, at some point, they will need to develop into first-team players. That currently looks unlikely in Eddie Howe’s set-up, with competition for places already fierce – outside of when it comes to the striker role.
With that in mind, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Newcastle could send Trevan Sanusi out on loan.

Le Havre interested in Trevan Sanusi loan deal
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on social media platform X, Sanusi is attracting interest from France.
He claims the teenager – who joined Newcastle from Birmingham in 2023 – will likely be allowed to leave St James’ Park on loan this summer.
Le Havre are said to be a concrete option for the 18-year-old, while Auxerre are also thought to be interested.

Newcastle United have confirmed stance on Trevan Sanusi
In June, Sanusi signed a new contract with the club.
Howe has described Sanusi as “very clever” and the fact he was handed a new deal would suggest the club see something in him.
The teenager made his first-team debut for Newcastle in the FA Cup win over Bromley in January.
Speaking after Sanusi, Sean Neave and Leo Shahar signed new contracts in June, academy director Steve Harper told Newcastle United’s official website: “Sean, Leo and Trevan have shown great promise and we’re delighted to see them continue their journey with us.

“Each of them has shown great commitment and potential, and we look forward to supporting their development as they take the next steps in their careers.”
Toon boss Howe thinks Sanusi must improve his end product. With that in mind, perhaps a loan move away to bank some first-team football in one of Europe’s major five leagues would be a good thing for his development.
