Warriors Receive Major Update on 4 Potential Roster Moves

With the 2025-26 NBA season coming up quickly, the Golden State Warriors remain quiet. Jonathan Kuminga's restricted free agent standoff has forced the team to stay out of the offseason player movement market to this point.

Even though they have yet to make any key moves, the Warriors seem to have some signings coming. Depending on what happens with Kuminga, there is a chance that the team could have a flurry of roster moves on the way in the near future.

To this point, there is no concrete proof that any player has agreed to sign with Golden State. However, there seem to be some verbal agreements in place.

That being said, a new update has been offered about four potential roster moves that could be coming in the near future for the team.

According to a report from NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Warriors are expected to sign Al Horford, De'Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II, and second-round pick Will Richard as soon as they figure out the Kuminga situation.

"We won't know if the Warriors emerge with more serious interest in Brogdon until the state of their roster and luxury tax bill becomes clear in the wake of a resolution to Kuminga's fate and the subsequent signings that have been long anticipated to bring Al Horford, De'Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II and second-round pick Will Richard into the Bay Area fold," Fischer wrote.

All four of those moves would be quality additions for Golden State. Keeping Payton would be a big plus, especially on the defensive end of the court.

Horford has long been expected to sign with the Warriors. The team can only hope that they get that deal done, as the center position is a major need. Melton would also be an excellent depth addition on the wing.

Stephen Curry is still one of the best players in the NBA. Jimmy Butler is in town to be his No. 2. Draymond Green is also still playing quality basketball.

If Golden State is going to win another championship with Curry as the face of its franchise, these suggested moves are needed. Adding Brogdon as well would simply give them even more talent and depth.

Only time will tell, but the Warriors seem poised to have a flurry of roster moves on the way at some point before the start of the upcoming season.
