The Dallas Mavericks are attempting to firm up their roster before what could be a very important and exciting 2025-26 season.
That means they are contemplating letting some players go, including one who showed great promise when he came into the league.
Marc Stein is reporting that the Mavericks have been “engaged” in trade conversations with other teams around 2023 first-round draft pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
He could be leaving Dallas in just a few weeks.
As @TheSteinLine just reported recently as well, the Mavericks have been engaged in trade conversations with teams surrounding 2023 1st-round pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
He is expected to be dealt in the coming weeks. https://t.co/mowKOywy6t

As noted, Prosper was the 24th pick in the 2023 draft, selected by the Sacramento Kings but making his home with the Mavericks.
He has produced an average of 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds during his two seasons with Sacramento.
Prosper came to the Mavericks when the team was very different.
Back then, they had Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving was healthy, and Cooper Flagg wasn’t in the league.
Obviously, things are very different now, and Dallas’ front office is weighing all its options.
They are attempting to build a post-Doncic future, and Flagg will be a huge part of that.
Prosper simply hasn’t contributed enough to be seen as invaluable, so he will probably be on the move very soon.
But because he hasn’t put up monster numbers, Dallas might not be able to get a lot in exchange for him.
The Mavericks are quite happy with the team they have put together and have confidence that the new season could be very eventful.
Because of that, losing Prosper might be the last tweak they make before training camp and the season ahead.
