The Sacramento Kings haven’t done much during the offseason, and some fans are concerned that more needs to happen to make them truly competitive in 2025-26.
And while they may not make any more moves during the summer, they could be busy before the trade deadline in February.
New reporting from Brett Siegel says that DeMar DeRozan is expected to be a trade deadline asset for the Kings.
And he isn’t the only one, because Malik Monk could also be sent to another team before the deadline.

DeRozan just finished his first season with the Kings, producing 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists on 47.7 percent from the field.
He came to the Kings as an experienced and proven vet, someone who can lead his team on the floor and produce some important clutch plays.
He has helped, but the Kings are still in a tough spot, and they might need to make adjustments.
DeRozan could get the Kings a hefty return, so it’s smart that the team will consider him a trade asset.
Of course, no one knows what state the team will be in at the deadline.
If they are doing better than expected, they might hold onto DeRozan.
But if they are still far from where they want to be, DeRozan, Monk, and even more could be on the move.
The trade deadline falls on February 5, and the Kings will be getting a lot of attention right before that.
They value DeRozan but are willing to cut ties with him if they think it’ll help them get better.
