Benfica are willing to sanction a loan deal for midfielder Florentino Luís, with Everton reviving their interest in him.
That’s [according to A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/noticias/florentino-everton-perdeu-rios-para-o-benfica-agora-pode-abastecer-se-na-luz-2025082815533232838), who report that Everton have turned their interest to the Portuguese midfielder after missing out on Richard Ríos.
They report that Everton had been keen on the Colombian midfielder and had hoped to get a deal done for him this summer but lost out on him to Benfica.
They then restarted their search for a new central midfielder and Florentino Luís is now back on the table. A report today from Mais Futebol stated that Everton were to set to make an offer for him at some point today.
A Bola say that they are evaluating a move and Benfica are waiting. They are known to be open to letting Florentino leave as long as compensation is provided. They’ve long set a €30-35m asking price but at this point in the window, a loan with option to buy or mandatory purchase clause would be considered.
Luís has lost importance in the Benfica squad after the arrival of Ríos and Enzo Barrenechea this summer. His representatives are working hard to find options and Everton could be one of them.
The Toffees have been linked with a move for the last year or more without it ever progressing. We would also point out that while they have been linked to Ríos in the past, there has been nothing since January.
It is therefore hard to imagine that they pushed hard this summer and lost out to Benfica even if someone is adamant to A Bola that it was the case.
