With the Champions League draw for the league phase of the 2025-26 edition of Europe’s premier cup competition concluded this evening, Liverpool now know the eight sides they will face in manager Arne Slot’s second season at the club.
As expected for a pot one club like Liverpool, it’s a tough draw, with Real Madrid and Inter Milan drawn as the Reds’ opponents from their section of the draw while Atletico Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt were drawn out of pot two. Pot three sides PSV Eindhoven and Marseille and pot four’s Qarabag and Galatasaray round things out.
While clearly a difficult draw, Liverpool will count themselves fortunate to be facing both Madrid clubs at home, while Inter will be the pot one side they face away and Frankfurt will be the pot two side they visit.
PSV and Qarabag are also set to be home games while Marseille and Galatasaray will be on the road, setting up what will hopefully be a manageable travel schedule for the Reds, who as last season when they finished first in the league phase will be targeting top eight and a bye directly into the Round of 16.
The order the fixtures will be played in and the scheduling specifics are expected to be announced by UEFA within the next 48 hours.
