Largie Ramazani makes manager comment as he secures Leeds United exit to Valencia

Largie Ramazani has touched down in Valencia ahead of a loan transfer away from Leeds United, delighted to be getting to work with Carlos Corberan.

The back end of the summer window for Leeds has been largely focused on drastically improving the standard of Daniel Farke’s attack – two fresh additions in August have been a solid start to that in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, but more is required before Monday evening.

Tension is bubbling and pressure to deliver the right end to this window has been amplified by the controversial treatment of Largie Ramazani, a noticeably bright talent that hasn’t had enough opportunities to showcase why he was bought for £10million a year ago.

He is joining Carlos Corberan’s Valencia for the 25/26 season, arriving at the Mestalla after Corberan’s latest remarkable turnaround under difficult circumstances at a club, joining Valencia in the midst of relegation trouble to steer them to mid-table – the table since he was appointed had Valencia seventh in La Liga.

The Athletic revealed this morning that Ramazani’s move to Valencia does not include a buy option, while Isaac Schmidt’s likewise transfer to Werder Bremen will include an option that could amount to £3.5million.

Largie Ramazani breaks silence as he completes Leeds United exit to Valencia

The Belgian touched down at Alicante airport on Wednesday evening to secure his move to Valencia, greeted by the media as he arrived.

Spanish outlet AS managed to speak to the winger, in which Ramazani was keen to express his delight at securing a move, noting that he’d already been in touch with his new manager, while stating that he’s raring to go after a tough August.

“I’m very happy to be here and to be playing in La Liga again. I’ve spoken with Corberán. I’m physically fit to play now.”

Carlos Corberan and Largie Ramazani could be a match made in heaven

I don’t personally subscribe to the notion that Ramazani isn’t getting playing time at Leeds because of his “maturity in duels” as Farke made out – the numbers completely rubbish that argument – so there’s another reason at play that we don’t see.

What we do know is that Leeds (Farke) have depreciated a really valuable asset to the point he’s not a viable option in our survival bid, interestingly viewed by Farke as inferior to Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson out wide, which says it all.

Moving to Valencia could be a perfect transfer for Ramazani, playing under an incredibly incredible and adaptable coach in Corberan.

If Corberan perceives these same weaknesses in Ramazani’s game out of possession, then he might be the ideal man to resolve them, given what we know about the Spaniard’s approach to each game.

The lack of buy option is an intriguing step taken by Leeds, because it underlines how the decision-makers at Leeds want to keep the door open for Ramazani, and know he’s worth a lot more to the club than a loan exit suggests, the same goes for Mateo Joseph.
