Malcolm Brogdon's future tied to Warriors roster decisions

Malcolm Brogdon’s free agency remains in limbo as the Warriors’ stalled talks with Jonathan Kuminga delay their roster moves.

Malcolm Brogdon is still waiting for his next destination, but his situation is closely tied to Golden State Warriors roster moves, per Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

The Warriors remain locked in a stalemate with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, and that delay has put other decisions on hold.

Until Golden State clears up Kuminga’s status and finalizes expected signings like Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II, and rookie Will Richard, their level of interest in Brogdon won’t be clear.

The Knicks and Timberwolves have also shown interest in the veteran guard. Minnesota, meanwhile, is trying to resolve its financial details with Bones Hyland, which adds another layer to their backcourt picture.

Cleveland is also in the mix but is focused on signing players to non-guaranteed contracts in order to avoid adding more to its already heavy luxury tax bill.

Last season, Brogdon averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from the field, and 28.6% from three in 24 games he played.
