Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso is set to recall Vinicius Junior into his XI for Saturday's La Liga game with Mallorca.

Vinicius started on the bench against Real Oviedo last time out, but he scored as a second-half substitute, and the Brazil international is now set to return to the XI here, with Rodrygo expected to drop out.

There has been widespread speculation surrounding Rodrygo's future this summer, but it does appear that the forward will be remaining at Bernabeu beyond the end of the current market.

Alonso has big decisions to make at the back, with Dani Carvajal starting ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold last time out, and that is again expected to be the case this weekend.

Meanwhile, it appears that Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger are battling for the starting role alongside Dean Huijsen this season, and the latter could just get the nod for Saturday's clash with Mallorca.

Real Madrid have no fresh injury concerns for this match, but Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Endrick and Ferland Mendy remain unavailable for selection due to fitness problems.

Arda Guler is currently benefitting from the midfield absences to operate in a central area, and the Turkey international is in line for another start, while Kylian Mbappe, who has three league goals already this season, will feature at the tip of the attack.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Rudiger, Huijsen, Carreras; Valverde, Tchouameni, Guler; Mastantuono, Mbappe, Vinicius
