Kyrie Irving Reveals Injury Update On His Knee

The future is a giant question mark for Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks right now.

Some analysts believe he could be back with the team halfway through the season, while others believe he will miss all of 2025-26 with his knee injury.

On a recent livestream, Irving opened up about his rehabilitation process.

He isn’t where he wants to be yet, but he is obviously moving in the right direction.

“I was in the gym doing a little bit more. I won’t tell you what exactly I was doing because it’s all about incremental growth, but I can share with y’all it was a good day in the gym. I’m healing up great. This will be five months post-surgery,” Irving said.

That is unquestionably good news, but it didn’t answer a very big question: when will Irving be back with his Mavericks?

The team is acting like they won’t see him for a long time.

They recently acquired D’Angelo Russell, which was seen as a move to fill the void left by Irving.

Head coach Jason Kidd is definitely making plans that don’t revolve around Irving, because no one wants him to rush this recovery.

His knee faced very serious damage, and he could risk making it worse by coming back too soon.

Irving is only 33 years old and is generally pretty healthy, but he needs to handle this situation with great care and smart judgment.

Thankfully for the Mavericks, they have a talented roster with multiple players who will be able to step up.

Russell, Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, and newcomer Cooper Flagg are just a few of the stars who will have to dig deep in the new year.

Irving is getting better, but he isn’t at 100 percent, and the Mavericks won’t be at the peak of their powers until he is.
