Everton could look to make a surprise move for Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo in the final days of the summer transfer window, according to reports - with the Red Devils starlet failing to pick up important minutes in Ruben Amorim's system at Old Trafford.
The report by Everton News states that the Toffees are one of the Premier League sides who could offer Mainoo a late transfer away from Old Trafford in the final days of the window - with the clock ticking ahead of the deadline on Monday.

Exits are on the agenda at Everton, with Rangers having made a move for young striker Youssef Chermiti to free up space in the squad, and that could see them land another 'late surprise' in Mainoo.
With eight arrivals already this summer as the club enter their new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes is keen to bring in another midfielder and that saw him have a bid rejected for West Ham United star Tomas Soucek earlier in the week, with the Czech midfielder having had the best years of his career under the Scottish boss.
And now their attention could turn to a 'blockbuster' move for Mainoo, with the Red Devils youngster potentially on his way out of the club after failing to fit into Amorim's tactical plans. Journalist Graeme Bailey took to Everton News and stated that the Toffees are keen on a deal, with the Merseyside club 'in the mix' for his signature. Bailey said:
“Everton are one of the teams who are keen on Mainoo and are certainly going to be in the mix, but there are so many sides keen.
“Mainoo’s camp are considering their options but the suggestion he has rejected clubs not in Europe or in Europe over England is being downplayed by his people.
“He is going to take his time, if he gets the chance to move – United are willing to do a deal but let’s see how it plays out.”
There won't be a shortage of options for the England international, who started for the Three Lions in the EURO 2024 final against Spain last summer, but starting in the shock League Cup loss to Grimsby Town won't have done his Red Devils career much good in terms of fitting into Amorim's system.
The 20-year-old seems to have been around for quite some time, joining United in 2011 and making his first-team debut in January 2023 - and at the age of just 20, he is still in the formative years of his footballing career.
