Former Jets defensive back Darryl “Buster” Skrine was arrested in Georgia on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a financial fraud scheme, according to Atlanta News First.
Skrine, who is facing 18 counts, is accused of meeting women on dating sites, becoming close to them, and then pretending to have financial issues.
Skrine’s arrest comes more than one year after he became a wanted fugitive in Canada for a different fraud case. He allegedly disconnected an ankle monitor and missed a court date.
The three women targeted in the alleged scam live in Wisconsin, North Carolina and New York.
Skrine was with the Jets from 2015 to 2018. He also played for the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears in his 11-year career.
