Manchester United’s season is already at a pivotal point with victory now a necessity at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
While losing to Arsenal was overlooked due to the performance, Manchester United’s second-half display against Fulham raised fresh concerns.
United only drew 1-1 with Fulham, but the damage was done, as fans lambasted the head coach for the system which was exposed.
Fulham manager Marco Silva implied United were easy to play against, with Ruben Amorim not helping himself with his in game decisions and substitutions also coming under fire.
Things got worse for United on Wednesday in defeat to Grimsby, a loss which has been categorised as the most embarrassing in club history.
Now, it leaves United with a must win clash against Burnley this weekend, and Paul Merson has picked out one player who needs to shine individually for the Red Devils.

Paul Merson wants Benjamin Sesko to start for Manchester United
For United to already be in ‘must win’ territory before the end of August is an appalling indication of where the club is currently at.

United have gone three games now without a win and as a result, Paul Merson has implied it is vital three points are secured on the weekend.
Writing in his SportsKeeda predictions column, Merson explained that he wants to see Sesko in the starting line-up for the clash, urging him to score or risk pressure being piled on.
“Sesko must start and he has to get off the mark, otherwise the pressure might just become very intense.”
While United fans are aware Sesko needs time, the media won’t give him it, so an early goal to end the talk would be perfect for the Slovenian ahead of the international break.
The game is a massive one and Merson has also suggested that a failure to win might signal the end for Amorim.
“But I must also admit that if Manchester United fail to beat Burnley this weekend, I don’t think Amorim will be at the club beyond the international break!
“I’m not saying they will sack him, but will he really stay on? Especially after making that kind of a statement about his players following the defeat to Grimsby Town.”
Merson predicts scoreline between Manchester United and Burnley
Sesko will be key for United this weekend, but he will be reliant on creativity from his attacking teammates, and if United have another lightning start, we need to take advantage and grab a few goals.
Giving his prediction for the game, Merson has made an exciting statement as he expects goals for United.
“I’m going to back Manchester United to win here because I think it will be the Burnley we saw against Tottenham.”
Merson adds that he expects United to beat Burnley 3-0, which is no less than Amorim needs to bring some positivity back to the club and some belief that he can turn things around.
