David Moyes is set to make just one change to the Everton side that won on the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art stadium last weekend when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
Vitaliy Mykolenko missed Everton’s first two league games with injury, but returned for the EFL Cup win over Mansfield Town on Wednesday night, and should take his place at left-back this weekend.
That will allow James Garner to move back into a more familiar central-midfield role, meaning Tim Iroegbunam looks set to drop out of the starting XI.
Apart from that, it should be unchanged from the side that were impressive in beating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 last weekend, especially in attack, where Iliman Ndiaye starred alongside three new signings - Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry.
Grealish set up both goals on the day, and he now has the chance to become the first Everton player to assist in his first two starts for the club since Bryan Oviedo did during Moyes’s first spell.
Jarrad Branthwaite remains the big miss with injury, but Michael Keane has performed well in his absence, because it has surprisingly been James Tarkowski who has looked shaky so far at the back.
Beto scored off the bench for Everton against Mansfield, sealing the 2-0 win, but he is set to remain on the bench with Barry leading the line again, while teenager Harrison Armstrong can count himself unlucky to drop out, after he put in a performance well beyond his tender years in Wednesday’s victory.
Everton possible starting lineup:
Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry
