Leeds United target Facundo Buonanotte in action, Daniel Farke in inlet.
Leeds United’s pursuit of Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte has hit a slight hitch already.
Daniel Farke is desperate to bring in attacking reinforcements after Leeds’ 5-0 loss to Arsenal last time out in the Premier League.
Leeds have already brought in Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor to supplement their front three, but it is not enough to survive in the Premier League.
Leeds had been tipped to sign West Brom star Tom Fellows, but the Argentina star seems to be their top target in the final days of the transfer window.
It hasn’t been straightforward, though.

Leeds deal for Facundo Buonanotte hits snag as flight cancelled
Buonanotte looked set to travel to Leeds and complete the formalities on Thursday, but that was not the case in the end.
Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Graham Smyth claimed on 28 August that the Whites had planned to have the Argentine travel today, but logistics got in the way and the flight was cancelled.
He states that he could now be set to fly up on 29 August instead to get the loan deal done.
Who is Leeds target Facundo Buonanotte?
Buonanotte is a 20-year-old who has been capped twice by the Argentina national team and joined the Seagulls in 2023.
He spent last season on loan in the Premier League with Leicester, notching a total of five goals and two assists for the Foxes as they were relegated.
Strengths:
Creativity: Buonanotte is an intelligent playmaker, capable of making a difference in the final third
Dribbling: He boasts quick feet, agility and feints that help him beat opponents and win fouls
Pressing: Tenacious player that presses relentlessly to win the ball back
Weaknesses:
Decision-making: Makes poor passing decisions and can hold onto the ball too long
Shooting: Finishing is not his strongest attribute, often inconsistent with his shots
Aerial ability: Not strong in the air, does not win many duels or score many headers
The young star can play as a right-winger or in the number 10 position, and his versatility will be a crucial asset for Farke’s side.
He was one of the few shining lights in Leicester’s dismal top-flight campaign last season, and could help the Peacocks to avoid the drop.
