Per reports, Bayern Munich saw Nick Woltemade make his way to Newcastle United for a staggering fee of €90 million, prompting them to push to finalize a deal for Chelsea FC striker Nicolas Jackson. There are positive updates based on the latest report.
Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) said that Bayern and Chelsea continued to haggle over what kind of transfer will be done for the Senegalese striker. Bayern wants a loan with an option to buy, but Chelsea prefers a permanent transfer or at least a loan with an obligation to buy. The Blues’ preference and waiting for other clubs willing to take Jackson for good is the reason why this deal hasn’t progressed yet.
With Newcastle, who were in the running for Jackson, forking over a large chunk of cash for Woltemade, that frees up the race for the Rekordmeister to get the transfer over the line. If Bayern end up getting beat to the punch by another club, especially on deadline day, how typical of them.
