Bojan Miovski looks set to complete a move to Rangers before Sunday's clash with Celtic.
The North Macedonia international is on the brink of leaving Girona behind just a year on from a £6..8million move to La Liga from Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old impressed in the Scottish Premiership - netting 44 goals in two seasons for the Dons - but had struggled in Spain, finding the net just four times.
Miovski has been bombed out of boss Michel's first-team plans this season with a £2.6million move to Ibrox agreed - which could rise to £4.2m after add-ons.
The Sun now report that the frontman has agreed personal terms in principle and is set to undergo a medical on Friday.
That would put him in line for a derby day debut with Celtic next on the agenda for Russell Martin's side.
With Hamza Igamane on the brink of a move to Lille and Cyriel Dessers attracting interest another striker may still need added this summer.
Youssef Chermiti is in the frame with sporting director Kevin Thelwell understood to be keen on the man he brought to Everton from £11m from Sporting back in 2023.
He was left out of The Toffees squad for the League Cup clash with Mansfield and has fallen out of the picture with the Premier League side.
After the win over the lower league side, boss David Moyes admitted he had left him out amid talks over a loan departure for the 21-year-old.
He confirmed: “There might be a chance that he leaves.”
