The Green Bay Packers shattered the landscape of the NFL on Thursday afternoon, pulling off a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys for superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Parsons had been connected heavily to the Packers over the last few days. However, the idea of Jerry Jones trading Parsons to Green Bay seemed unlikely.
In addition to Jones trading Parsons to the Packers seeming unlikely, Green Bay is also not a team known for making aggressive trades. Parsons is already arguably the biggest trade in franchise history.
Following the news of the trade, Parsons wasted no time in sending out his first message as a member of the Packers. He took to social media to share that message.

"Thank you Dallas ..... GO Pack Go!" Parsons wrote on X.
Green Bay had to give up a lot of value to acquire Parsons. To get him, the team traded two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark.
Not only did the Packers give up a lot of value to acquire Parsons, they also worked out a long-term extension with their new franchise cornerstone.
As reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the 26-year-old superstar received a monstrous four-year, $188 million extension that includes $136 million guaranteed.
Throughout the first four years of his NFL career, Parsons has been one of the most productive players in the league. He has played in 63 games, totaling 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and nine defended passes.
With the trade now official, Green Bay has become a much more serious Super Bowl contender. There are still some questions surrounding the team, particularly at the cornerback position, but Parsons filled one of the biggest needs.
Heading into the 2025 season, the Packers are now primed to have an elite pass rush. Parsons will be joined by Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness, and Edgerrin Cooper.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season Parsons is able to put together in his first year with Green Bay. Also, it will be intriguing to see where the team ends up at the end of the season with one of the biggest defensive superstars in the NFL now leading the way.
