Eagles will still face Micah Parsons in 2025 after trade to NFC contender

The Eagles won’t have to face Micah Parsons twice a year anymore.

But even though the Dallas Cowboys star is out of the NFC East, Parsons is still on Philadelphia’s 2025 schedule.

Parsons, the former Penn State and Harrisburg standout, was dealt from the Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

As a part of the trade, Parsons — the four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher — signed a four-year, $188 million contract extension to stay with the NFC North contenders.

Parsons is set to make $47 million per year over the course of the four years, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The Packers had to part with two first-round picks, as well as defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

The draft capital will help Dallas in the future — but not next Thursday when the Cowboys visit Lincoln Financial Field for the 2025 season opener. The Cowboys host the Eagles on Nov. 23.

Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata and the Eagles’ offensive line will still have to block Parsons this season. The Eagles travel to Green Bay for Monday Night Football on Nov. 10.

There’s also the prospect of the Packers standing in the Eagles’ way of repeating as NFC champions. Green Bay returns a lot of production from last year’s playoff team that lost, 22-10, to the Eagles in the Wild Card round.
