What is at stake for Brighton and Man City?
Brighton are one of eight Premier League teams who have failed to win either of their opening two matches of the new season, with their 1-1 draw at home to Fulham followed by last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Everton.
The Seagulls did not drop points in either home or away encounters with Man City last season, though, while they enter this weekend’s contest in buoyant mood after thrashing Oxford United 6-0 in the second round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The same cannot be said for Man City, meanwhile, who suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur a week after claiming an eye-catching 4-0 opening win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pep Guardiola is tasked with finding the right formula in the coming weeks to build a winning team, mixed with established senior stars and a host of new signings and highly-rated prospects.
