Sports World Reacts to Shocking Micah Parsons-Packers Blockbuster Trade

One week before NFL opening night, the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in a stunning blockbuster deal. The Packers sent a 2026 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Kenny Clark to Dallas in exchange for Parsons.

In turn, the Packers gave him a massive four-year, $188 million deal, essentially pushing the chips in to try and make a Super Bowl run in the next few years. The deal also gives Parsons $136 million guaranteed, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Parsons immediately took to X to share his thoughts, writing: Thank you Dallas ..... GO Pack Go!"

It was a shocking twist, especially with Week 1 of the NFL season exactly one week away.

Sports World Reacts to Shocking Parsons Trade

After the trade came out, plenty of names around the sports world reacted to the news.

One of them was Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.

"Wow!!! Jerry didn't want to pay the money! Good Bag Micah."

Former Houston Texans star JJ Watt also had two posts on X.

"Keep refreshing and reading to make sure it's real. No wayyyyyyy."

"A move of this magnitude is so rare in this league. What a play by Green Bay," Watt wrote later.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love also reacted to the trade with an Instagram post.

The Penn State football account also reacted after the former Nittany Lion was dealt.

"Micah Parsons: PA Raised, Penn Stater, Highest-Paid Non-QB in NFL History."

Former Wisconsin Badgers star basketball player Sam Dekker also had a reaction to the Packers' new-look defense.

"Edgerrin Cooper, Micah Parsons, Rashan Gary, and LVN......"

Robert Griffin III also reacted after seeing the Parsons deal.

"The Green Bay Packers trading for Micah Parsons makes them a bonafide Super Bowl Contender with a closer."

NFL Network analyst Adam Rank had a hilarious response to the Parsons trade.

"If this Micah Parsons trade had happened in a fantasy league, half of the managers would have rage quit."

The Packers now land a superstar edge rusher in his prime and lock him up on a four-year contract, opening their championship window even more.

The Packers begin the season against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on September 7, as Parsons will make his Green Bay debut.
