After weeks of a very public and messy standoff, the Micah Parsons saga has officially come to an end. In a shocking turn of events, Jerry Jones decided to cut ties with the All-Pro linebacker.
Back on August 1st, Parsons requested a trade out of Dallas amid weeks of failed contract talks. However, Jones made it clear early on that the organization wouldn't consider such a drastic move. Just a week out from their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, that no longer seems to be the case.
On Thursday evening, a report emerged that drastically altered the NFL landscape. The Cowboys have traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for veteran Kenny Clark and a pair of first-round draft picks.
Before even playing a down for them, the Packers have already fully committed themselves to Parsons. Further developments cited that they plan to ink him to a record-setting deal that will make him the league's highest-paid non-quarterback.

Dallas Cowboys slighted in Micah Parsons trade grades
As the dust settled from the initial frenzy of reactions, Jeff Howe of The Athletic broke down grades for this blockbuster trade. While they were able to land a viable defensive piece and draft capital, the Cowboys find themselves with a lackluster C+ for their return package.
On the other side, the Packers were given an A+++ for landing the star linebacker.
"It's not a good look, though. After contentious negotiations with quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb last year, the Cowboys should have done a better job of getting out in front of the Parsons discussions. Instead, they welcomed far too much drama," Howe wrote. "Strictly in terms of compensation, the Cowboys did fine. It's seldom the case for a team to recoup real value when a player is so publicly available, and the Cowboys accomplished that. But it's perfectly reasonable to argue it never should have reached this point."
Years from now, this deal could end up being a massive blunder for the Cowboys. In the early stages of his career, Parsons stacked up the resumé of someone on track to be an all-time great. Now, Dallas has to watch him play out the rest of his prime in a different uniform.
Only time will tell just how much of an impact this trade will have on the future of the iconic franchise.
