Nottingham Forest have a big few days ahead as the clock ticks down to the end of the summer transfer window.
Incomings and outgoings are on the cards for the Reds before the curtain comes down on their transfer business at 7pm on Monday. No doubt there will be plenty of twists and turns to any deals, too.
Forest have put some strong foundations in place with their eight arrivals so far. They have also got through a lot of ground work to move on fringe players.
The basis of an excellent squad is there. The Reds now need to put the finishing touches to it, and that is likely to mean a busy few days on the horizon.
After last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo revealed his transfer wish-list for the remainder of the window. He identified the need for a right-back, a left-back and another goalkeeper.
Forest have already been linked with a number of names to fill all three positions. The club are clearly keen to ensure they have plenty of options, given time is ticking to get deals done.
On the subject of potential right-back targets, the Reds are said to be in talks for RB Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida. However, they face competition from Atalanta to secure his services.
An offer worth in the region of €11 million (£9m) for Nicolo Savona has reportedly been rebuffed by Juventus, but the word from Italy is another bid from Forest is anticipated. Which right-back eventually links up with Nuno’s squad remains to be seen.
Likewise, the club have a number of potential irons in the fire at left-back. Leicester City’s Victor Kristiansen, Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys and Roma’s Anass Salah-Eddine have all been linked.

In terms of goalkeepers, Getafe’s David Soria has been identified as Forest’s preferred choice to provide back-up for No.1 Matz Sels between the posts. Fenerbahce’s Dominik Livakovic is an alternative option.
It might be that the Reds target a fourth arrival in the remaining days of the window. Sporting Lisbon have their sights set on snapping up Jota Silva, which could pave the way for another winger coming in.
Strasbourg’s Dilane Bakwa is a target, and Forest have reportedly already had three bids rejected for the 22-year-old. They look to be facing a fight to win the race for him as there is said to be competition for the France Under-21 international’s signature.
As for outgoings before the window closes, the Reds could be fairly busy on that front. Jota is unlikely to be the only departure, assuming a move to Sporting does go through.
Nuno has already identified Omar Richards and Eric da Silva Moreira as two players in line to move on. “I cannot give what they need in their careers, which is minutes,” the Portuguese said last weekend.
Defender David Carmo has been linked with Real Oviedo and Italian outfit Cremonese have been credited with an interest in Emmanuel Dennis. Forest will also look to find a move for Josh Bowler.
It remains to be seen what happens with Ibrahim Sangare. West Ham United have had a loan offer turned down, but that might not be the end of the matter.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has not ruled out a permanent departure for Sangare. He posted on X: "NFFC will only consider permanent exit for Sangaré for important fee, or loan with 100% guaranteed obligation (to buy)."
