Insider claims £6m Premier League star picked Leeds United ahead of Europe’s elite

Leeds United are pushing to bring in more quality into their forward line before the end of the summer transfer window on Monday night. They are working on a couple of deals and are hopeful of finalising a couple more signings in the next few days.

Daniel Farke has made it clear that he wants to bring in two more attackers before the September 1st transfer deadline. Leeds have looked lacklustre in the final third, and the manager believes the team need more goals and creativity if they are to survive in the Premier League this season.

Leeds are more than confident of getting one more deal done, but the arrival of a second player could depend on a sale late in the transfer window, which seems unlikely at the moment.

However, the Whites are making progress towards securing at least one more signing, and things are in place to bring in the 11th new recruit of the summer transfer window.

Leeds United beat several clubs in England and Europe to the signature of Facundo Buonanotte

Leeds are in the process of securing a deal to sign Brighton attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on a loan deal until the end of the season.

They are close to finalising the terms of a deal with the Seagulls, and the Argentinian will fly out to Leeds today to complete his move to Elland Road.

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth has provided more insider info on the imminent arrival of the 20-year-old at Leeds.

Some French tristesse appearing in the quote tweets. In case that kind of thing makes you happy. This is a player who was wanted by a lot of clubs.

He revealed several clubs were interested in snapping up the Brighton attacking midfielder, but Leeds have beaten everyone to his imminent signature.

West Ham were among the Premier League clubs who wanted Buonanotte, but he was also wanted at some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Borussia Dortmund actively wanted to sign the Brighton star, but the Seagulls were more keen to loan him out to a club in the Premier League.

Leeds believe they have pulled off a coup by getting a deal done to sign Buonanotte late in the summer transfer window.

Will Leeds get one more?

Leeds have signed two strikers this summer, but Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are known for being injury-prone players, and the latter is still looking for match sharpness.

Farke has been keen to bring in one more striker, and has more or less said the same. However, it seems Leeds may not bring anyone else once the Buonanotte deal is over the line.

Leeds apparently need a sale before they can sign one more player, but the club did pay off to move on Patrick Bamford on Thursday.

It remains to be seen whether that extra space in their wage bill motivates Leeds to try and bring in one more striker before the window closes on Monday night.
