Sheffield United are keen on Chelsea midfielder Alex Matos, according to The Star.
Sheffield United want to snap up the player before the end of the transfer window. SUFC have until the deadline on Monday to get a deal over the line.

Matos, 20, spent time on loan at Oxford United in the Championship last season. He has since returned to Chelsea but his future with the Premier League giants has been up in the air.
In this latest update regarding his situation, The Star claim he has emerged on the radar of the Blades. Ruben Selles is in the hunt for some reinforcements.
Speaking in an interview back in May, Matos said, as per a report by the Oxford Mail: “When I return back to pre-season, I’ll have the conversations that I need to have. Those conversations are ongoing, but I’m not really focused on that at the minute. After I’ve had some time off, I’ll come back and I’ll see where my future lies.

“The experience here (at Oxford United) will definitely be in my memory. I’ve enjoyed a valuable loan experience, and I’ve enjoyed the ups and downs, and I think I’ve come out the end of the tunnel in a bright way.”

Sheffield United could see Matos as someone to boost their midfield ranks. If he joined SUFC, he would give them more competition and depth in the middle of the park.

He has since played twice for the Blues’ first-team. As well as Oxford United, he has also been shipped out to Huddersfield Town on a temporary basis to get some experience under his belt and boost his development.

What now for Sheffield United?
Sheffield United will hope to see more new faces come through the entrance door at Bramall Lane over the coming days. SUFC have made a slow start to this campaign.
The Blades have lost their first three league fixtures on the spin against Bristol City, Swansea City and Millwall. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Birmingham City.
Selles was picked as their replacement for Chris Wilder back in June but the ex-Reading, Southampton and Hull City man has struggled to make an impact so far and may well be feeling the pressure. His team are back in action this weekend with a tricky away trip to the Riverside Stadium to play in-form Middlesbrough.
