We are entering the final days of a memorable summer transfer window and Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are all still pushing for more major signings before Monday night’s 7pm deadline. Arsenal will hold fresh talks on Friday over a deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie as they seek an initial loan agreement that includes an obligation for a permanent move next year.

Chelsea have agreed a £40million deal with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho are are in discussions with Barcelona over Fermin Lopez, though it seems that Spurs have won the race for Xavi Simons after settling on a £51.8m fee with RB Leipzig after the player arrived in London on Thursday, with Savinho staying at Manchester City.

Xavi Simons completes Tottenham medical

Xavi Simons is set to complete his move to Tottenham.

Spurs have been in a battle with Chelsea to sign the RB Leipzig forward, who arrived in London on Thursday for talks.

Fabrizio Romano reported overnight that Tottenham had agreed a €60m deal for Simons after receiving the green light from the player’s camp.

Now The Athletic’s David Ornstein says that Simons has already undergone a medical and agreed personal terms.

Reports suggest that Tottenham want to present the Dutch attacker before Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth.

Liverpool plot huge new Isak bid

Liverpool are expected to make a massive second bid for Alexander Isak, with one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas likely to go right down to the wire.

The Reds have already seen one offer worth £110m for the wantaway Swedish striker rejected earlier this month, though now look to have received fresh encouragement that a blockbuster move could yet be possible before the deadline.

That is after Newcastle on Thursday agreed a £70m deal with Stuttgart for German forward Nick Woltemade, who could well be Isak’s replacement.

However, Sky Sports report that the Magpies would need to sign a second forward before finally entertaining Liverpool’s long-standing interest in Isak after also losing Callum Wilson this summer, amid more links to Yoane Wissa at Brentford and Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen.

We’ll be hearing from both Eddie Howe and Arne Slot this morning ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action.

However, an agreement has yet to be struck with Bayer Leverkusen, who want his £52m release clause to be paid in full.

However, Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal are seeking an initial loan deal that includes an obligation to make the move permanent next summer.
