Newcastle United mega offer expected – Another huge effort to add to Nick Woltemade

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the battle to sign Barcelona’s Fermín López this summer.

That’s at least what El Chiringuito, and they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover Newcastle and Tottenham’s interest.

Newcastle are going after the 22-year-old and said to be making a tempting offer to both him and Barcelona.

It’s claimed the Magpies are willing to offer €100m to Barcelona and quadruple the Spain international’s salary. There’s no mention of his current salary.

Earlier this week, Cope reported the midfielder earns €6m, meaning Eddie Howe’s side are willing to offer him €24m per year. The Tyneside club have to be wary of Tottenham as it’s reported they have also ‘joined the race’ to sign him.

That’s all El Chiringuito has to say about the Europa League winners’ interest in Fermín.

This information was provided by journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, who said more on Mega.

He reports Newcastle have already made an approach to sign the player and are already in contact with him.

“The English side’s [Newcastle] offer would reach €100m and quadruple his salary,” he said.

Over the past few days, there’s been repeated claims in Spain about Chelsea’s concrete interest in Fermín. They have reportedly made an offer and are doing everything possible to sign him.

El Chiringuito makes no mention of Chelsea, and Barcelona may using both Newcastle and Tottenham to put pressure on the Blues. The La Liga winners need funds to register their summer signings, and it can be fixed with Fermín’s sale.

Newcastle United agreed a deal for Nick Woltemade on Thursday, and another transfer around the same level would be a surprise. There’s a chance Barcelona are trying to pressure Chelsea, or perhaps hype the youngster’s value.
