Leeds United could end this transfer window with a major revamp of their attack from last season. The Whites had one of the best attacks in the Championship scoring 95 goals on their way to winning the league title.
Manor Solomon, Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford played their parts in that success last season. But just two weeks into the new season, only one remains. Solomon returned to his parent club after his loan deal, and is unlikely to join the club in this window. Mateo Joseph asked for a transfer, refused to join pre-season and was sent out on loan. And Patrick Bamford has now officially been released from his contract after seven years at Elland Road.

These last few weeks of the transfer window have seen Leeds show interest in a host of players. Daniel Farke has pushed for the club to bring in some quality in the attack. After losing out on Igor Paixao, the club have cycled through a lot of targets.
Nottingham Forest star Jota Silva was linked with a move to the Whites. But now, a report from A Bola in Portugal has now confirmed where the winger is headed this week. Silva reportedly turned down Leeds’ approach, and accept a loan offer from Sporting CP. He views Champions League football as a big part of his bid to make the Portugal squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Sporting’s loan offer includes an option to buy.
Leeds can do better than Jota Silva
The club does need quality and depth in attack, but a player like Jota Silva is not much of a difference maker. Objectively speaking, he is not on a much better level than the options currently at the club. Leeds need to find better quality to sign top players before the end of the window.
