Wout Faes could depart Leicester City before the end of the transfer window with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg the latest club to target the centre-back.
Faes has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer and it was expected he would leave City following their relegation back to the Championship.
With four days left in the window, he remains a City player, but that could change before 7pm on Monday.
According to German outlet Kicker, Faes is one of two England-based centre-backs that Wolfsburg are looking at to fill a gap in their defence, with Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer the other.
Bees boss Keith Andrews is keen to keep the Norwegian though, saying on Thursday: “He’s someone I definitely don’t want to lose. Kristoffer is a big part of the group. He’ll be in the squad on Saturday.”
Faes has only been used as a substitute in City’s Championship games so far this season, with Caleb Okoli and Jannik Vestergaard preferred as Marti Cifuentes’ first-choice centre-back pairing.

Especially in a World Cup year, he won’t be happy to sit on the bench, and so a move remains on the table.
The Belgian has been linked to a number of clubs, including Turkish side Besiktas, who signed Wilfred Ndidi earlier in the window.
However, a departure for Faes would have to be carefully considered by City in order to not leave themselves short.
They also have Ben Nelson to call upon, and Bade Aluko has looked promising too, albeit he is inexperienced and was exclusively used as a full-back in pre-season by Cifuentes, having played in the centre of defence under Andy King.
