Report: How Manchester United have reacted to Alejandro Garnacho fee as Chelsea move agreed

Chelsea’s long-standing interest in Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho will finally pay off as they prepare to sign him.

The Blues have injected plenty of fresh talent into their squad in this summer transfer window, and Alejandro Garnacho is set to become a late new recruit.

Chelsea’s directors all massively rate Garnacho, the 21-year-old winger whose future at Old Trafford has looked over for some time. The Argentine youngster has been frozen out of the picture this season under Ruben Amorim, but he will get the chance to reignite his career at Stamford Bridge.

Even though Garnacho received interest from a Saudi Arabian club this week, reports now claim that the player is on his way to West London.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports via X that Garnacho will undergo a medical in London on Friday ahead of his imminent switch to Chelsea.

Manchester United pleased with Alejandro Garnacho fee

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £40m for Garnacho, which includes a future 10 per cent sell-on clause.

It is explained that Man Utd have come down from their £50m valuation, while the Blues have come up from £25m to obtain their target.

The report claims that the Red Devils believe the £40m transfer is a ‘good, pragmatic deal’, delivering their fourth largest ever sale. Old Trafford officials are happy with the outcome because the player has been training away from Amorim’s squad and has been pursuing a move to Chelsea this summer.

Even though Man Utd officials are pleased with the Garnacho sale, the Blues should look at the deal as a potential coup for them as well. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca wanted to sign Garnacho back in January, and now he’s finally about to get the skilful winger.

When could Alejandro Garnacho make his Chelsea debut?

With Garnacho set to undergo his Chelsea medical on Friday, Blues fans will be hoping his transfer is confirmed imminently.

In terms of his debut, we’d be shocked to see him involved for Saturday afternoon’s Premier League match at home to Fulham. Instead, we’re guessing he could wear Chelsea colours for the first time on 13 September against Brentford after the international break.

As you can see above, Chelsea travel up to Old Trafford later next month for a showdown, which could result in some reception for Garnacho.
