Alexander Isak Liverpool transfer'unlocked'as Newcastle strike£75million deal

Newcastle United look close to agreeing a deal for talented and absolutely massive German frontman Nick Woltemade.

The Saudi-owned club have reportedly agreed a £64million deal for the 6ft 6in targetman, which could mean the Magpies are more willing to let wantaway Swede Alexander Isak make his desired move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old striker scored 12 goals in 28 games last season in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart, and was the top scorer at last season's U21 Euros, despite not scoring in two matches against tournament champions England.

Woltemade has already drawn comparisons to Newcastle striker Isak, as well as legendary forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, due to his impressive technical ability and lanky frame.

Despite the transfer not being confirmed, some internet savvy Newcastle fans seem to have jumped the gun by editing the player's Wikipedia page to say he has already made the move.

The £64m deal comes after Newcastle's bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers target man Jorgen Strand Larsen was rebuffed earlier this month.

Newcastle have also failed in attempts to buy Manchester United's new man Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig and Liverpool signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

While speculation continues that the signing of Woltemade will make room for Isak to leave the club, sources within Newcastle United are keen to emphasise that any new striker will be a replacement for the outgoing Callum Wilson, and not the Swede.

Isak has not been training with the squad since Liverpool's rejected bid of £120m, with sources claiming the 25-year-old feels betrayed by the club, having been promised a move away this summer.

Isak has been a key player for the Magpies since his move there from Real Sociedad in 202, with the former Dortmund man scoring 54 goals in 86 Prem appearances, including 23 goals last campaign.

He also cemented himself in Newcastle history, scoring the second goal in the Magpie's 2-1 win over Liverpool and helping the club end their 70 year trophy drought.
