What Christian Falk just heard this morning about Chelsea talks for Nicolas Jackson

Bayern Munich remain ‘confident’ that they can sign Nicolas Jackson this summer.

The Chelsea hitman has clearly fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Joao Pedro (Brighton) and Liam Delap (Ipswich).

Now, the Bavarians are trying to work out a deal under the fresh constraints of their loans-only policy.

Despite some initial denial over Bayern’s interest in Jackson’s services, the transfer rumour has now become public knowledge.

The Bundesliga giants have already secured personal terms with the player – now all that remains is striking an agreement with the club.

“It is TRUE: Bayern are confident they can sign Nicolas Jackson this summer,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“Max Eberl has long denied interest in Nicolas Jackson. Following reports in CF Bayern Insiderand BILD , he has now admitted that FC Bayern are interested in the Chelsea player.

“In fact, there was a supervisory board meeting on Monday at which it was decided that Jackson should be loaned out. FC Bayern have reached an agreement with the player. Now, a solution must be found with Chelsea.”

How did Jackson perform at Chelsea in the 2024/25 season?

There were 15 goal contributions (10 goals, five assists) in 30 Premier League games last term.

With 2,240 minutes played in the English top-flight, this equates to a goal or assist every 149.3 minutes. Or one every 133.42 minutes based on total minutes played (and 19 goal contributions) across all competitions.

What makes Jackson specifically interesting for Bayern Munich is his positional versatility. The footballer primarily operates as a central forward but can offer depth on either wing as and when Vincent Kompany should need it.

With both Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman having departed the club this summer, that’s a truly welcome attribute.

Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan amid Jackson talks

The good news for Bayern Munich is that Chelsea are willing to consider a loan move for the Senegalese striker.

Falk reports that this differs considerably from the Premier League outfit’s stance on Christopher Nkunku, with the Frenchman set to undergo a medical with AC Milan.

“Unlike with Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea is willing to discuss a loan for Jackson,” the Bayern transfer news insider added.

“But there are also demands: Bayern must cover his entire salary and pay a loan fee in the low double digits. That is currently being negotiated.

“In addition, Chelsea must comply with the number of players allowed to be loaned abroad. That would still be possible in Jackson’s case.”

Now, it remains to be seen whether Max Eberl and Co. can ensure this deal gets over the line.
