Alexis Mac Allister is back in training ahead of Arsenal‘s visit on Sunday after missing the trip to Newcastle with a minor fitness complaint, while there is also good news on Conor Bradley.
Mac Allister missed the trip to St James’ Park due to a fitness issue, with the Argentine unable to train properly in the buildup.
Slot was hopeful that his No. 10 would bounce back in time for Sunday’s visit of Arsenal, and there was good news on that front when the Liverpool head coach spoke to the press on Friday.
“Mac Allister started training again,” Slot revealed, before adding: “I don’t think we had any injury coming out of that game [at Newcastle]. And Virgil is also okay.”
It remains to be seen whether the Argentine will be considered to start after a delayed return in pre-season, and no doubt lingering concerns over his fitness before the international break.
He and Ryan Gravenberch have not started together since the Premier League title was won against Tottenham last season, with Curtis Jones partnering the Dutchman at Newcastle.
Slot could shuffle his starting XI, though, as Bradley has trained as normal this week after his return off the bench on Monday, meaning a potential midfield return for Dominik Szoboszlai.
Updating on Bradley, Slot said: “I think the positive is that Conor Bradley only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game. He has trained this week.

“The whole week or the whole week, still two days to go,” he added.
With Jeremie Frimpong sidelined until after the international break, the return of Bradley is a boost, but Szoboszlai performed exceptionally well to ensure Slot does not have to rush the No. 12 back into the XI.
Liverpool do not have any other injury concerns leading up to Arsenal‘s visit, who will be without Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
