Paul Merson is convinced he knows how Wolves vs Everton will end after what he noticed this week

Everton return to Premier League action on Saturday with an away trip to Molineux to face Wolves.

David Moyes’ side put three points on the board last weekend in the very first Premier League game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues were then in action during the week in the Carabao Cup, where Everton fielded a strong side against Mansfield Town.

Jack Grealish started against Mansfield, with the 29-year-old keen to play as much football as he can on Merseyside.

Fans will have their eyes on the remaining days of the transfer window, but the team’s attention will be fully focused on Saturday’s game.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher expected Wolves and Everton to draw, just like they did at Molineux last season.

Now, Paul Merson has shared his prediction for the game at the weekend.

Whether he will be thrown in at the deep end on Saturday against Wolves remains to be seen.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Sky Sports pundit Merson has agreed with Neville and Carragher with their expectation of a draw.

‘Everton looked great last weekend. They have something different in attack now. That trio of lliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, they give Everton an X-factor now. In the past, Everton were a bit predictable going forward, but that’s not the case anymore!’ he said.

‘I also loved what David Moyes did during the Carabao Cup game by playing a strong team in that 2-0 win over Mansfield Town. Everton aren’t going to get relegated, so why not look for a cup run?’

‘I feel like Wolves will be buoyed by their win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup. That performance will breed confidence and it could in turn produce a better result this weekend,’ Merson added as he predicted a 1-1 draw.

A point on the road in the Premier League is rarely a bad result, but Wolves look like a side who are going to struggle this season.

Troy Deeney has been excited by Grealish’s full Everton debut, but it seems Merson has not yet seen enough to convince him three points will be taken back to Merseyside,

Everton face difficult run of games after international break

Three points would be huge for Everton on Saturday, considering how difficult their run of games is after the international break.

Moyes is keen to bring in more signings before the deadline on Monday, and the Blues may just need that extra bit of depth.

However, the work done so far in the market has been extremely positive.

If Everton can strengthen with a couple extra new faces, then Moyes will surely feel his squad is in a good spot until January.

It is claimed that Moyes is delighted with some of Everton’s signings, but the 62-year-old will not reject the opportunity to bring in some more.
