Jose Mourinho could soon become the manager of West Ham.

Mourinho has been open to joining West Ham previously, as the Portuguese head coach was linked with the move when Julen Lopetegui faced the sack at the London Stadium.

Now rumours have begun to resurface in East London after Mourinho parted ways with Fenerbahce just two games into the Süper Lig season.

This has coincided with a difficult period of performances and results for the Irons, which has seen Graham Potter be linked with the sack at West Ham.

Now, news has emerged that could see Mourinho replace Potter at West Ham, with talks potentially already underway with the ex-Real Madrid boss’ agent.

Jose Mourinho talks could soon begin at West Ham

There is no hiding away from the troubles that Potter is having right now, especially after the late 3-2 defeat against Wolves, despite being 2-1 up.

Former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce believes Potter could be sacked at West Ham in the coming days or weeks after such a poor run of form in E20.

This could leave the door open for Mourinho to return to the Premier League, with the 55-year-old available on the market after his Turkiye exit.

The former Chelsea manager will now wait for a role to become available, with Alan Brazil suggesting that a move to the London Stadium could be possible.

Speaking on talkSPORT (29 August, 09:05am), the ex-Tottenham forward suggested that the head coach’s agent will now be getting in touch to assess a return to English football.

He said: “Jose, right away, his agent will be like, ‘Let me talk to clubs in England, don’t worry about that.’ Jose is Jose, and he’s not scared of any job.

“West Ham, would he go to West Ham? He’s going to go somewhere, Jose, he loves it.”

Jose Mourinho could transform West Ham

Potter is a head coach with grand ideas of how football should be played, with the desire to play football the so-called “right way”.

That truly hasn’t worked to this point and hasn’t really shown signs of ever getting better based on the showings this campaign.

As a result, a return to a manager like Mourinho, in a similar ilk to David Moyes, could prove to be wise for the Hammers’ future.

The former Manchester United boss is a serial winner and knows how to get the best out of whatever squad he gets his hands on.

This could see a move to East London make complete sense as the claret and blue outfit are in desperate need of positive results in any fashion.
