Juventus director Damien Comolli says Nico Gonzalez is unlikely to leave the club before deadline day.
Leeds United had been alerted to the attacker’s availability, with the player’s camp initially sounding out potential exit options. However, there has been no inkling that the Whites at this stage have made any advances towards the 27-year-old, who will be on sizeable wages in Italy.
Gonzalez, meanwhile, has been linked with a number of other European clubs, but it seems as though the Argentine will stay in Turin. Juventus chief Comolli gave an update to Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones.
“I don't think he can leave,” Comolli outlined. “We are not talking with Atletico Madrid about Nico. Nor with any other club. So I don't believe it, I think he's going to stay with us.”
As for Leeds, they are hopeful of acquiring an offensive player before Monday’s deadline. The Whites appear to be advancing in a loan approach for Facundo Buonanotte, someone Leeds Live reported on Thursday was of interest to the club. He can play as a number 10 or as a right winger.
The 20-year-old - who has two caps for Argentina, albeit none since March 2024 - has scored nine goals and notched four assists in 71 Premier League games. He registered five goals and two assists in 31 Premier League games while on loan at Leicester City last season.

While it is still possible that two attacking signings come in before the end of the window, it seems at this stage more likely that only one arrives through the door.
However, the loan of Buonanotte and his age being under 21, and thus not subject to squad quotas, could increase the probability of a second addition.
