General agreement with Manchester City player – Over €15m needed to finalise move

On Thursday, La Repubblica reported AC Milan have made initial contact to explore the situation of Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji.

Galatasaray’s move for the Swiss player collapsed despite an agreement with the Citizens, and this has given an opportunity to the Rossoneri to sign the defender.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Gala agreed a €15m fee to sign the 30-year-old, who ended up dithering over a transfer to Turkey in the hope of finding a better move.

Milan have a general agreement with the player regarding a switch but are yet to formally speak about the final terms. There is also a belief that Max Allegri’s side will need to offer more than that €15m to Manchester City.

This transfer fee will impact how much they offer to Akanji in wages, as they are currently considering putting forward €4m per season on a deal that runs until the summer of 2028.

The ball is now in the court of the Manchester City player and his father, who has played a key role in his son’s career.
