Golden State Warriors veteran star Draymond Green expressed his disappointment with the front office of the Cowboys, but congratulated Parsons on his new beginning.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Timberwolves star Julius Randle mirrors the sentiment towards the Cowboys’ execs.

In a blockbuster move just a week before the 2025 NFL season kicks off, the Dallas Cowboys have traded All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for Pro Bowl star Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in 2026 and 2027.

The deal ends what many believed would be a career-long tenure for Parsons in Dallas, following months of tense contract negotiations and a formal trade request earlier this month. Green Bay wasted no time securing their new defensive centerpiece, signing Parsons to a four-year, $188 million extension with $136 million guaranteed, which set a record that makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.
Despite the acrimony, Parsons released a statement expressing gratitude toward Dallas fans and teammates, calling the move “a sad day but not a bitter one”. The two teams will meet in a highly anticipated Week 4 “Sunday Night Football” clash in Dallas, where Parsons will face his former team for the first time.

The Micah Parsons trade raised questions and uncertainty amongst fans on how the Cowboys are planning to approach the 2025 season.
