Several Liverpool squad members still face uncertain futures as the summer transfer window deadline approaches, with final decisions expected imminently.

Stefan Bajcetic has attracted considerable interest from La Liga, and Girona are currently leading the race for his signature.

Nonetheless, Liverpool have signaled that their intention is for Bajcetic to remain at Anfield and continue developing, following his previous loan at Las Palmas.

Meanwhile, James McConnell’s situation has reached a resolution: the 20-year-old midfielder has joined Ajax on loan for the season, immediately after penning a new five-year contract with Liverpool.

The Dutch club reportedly paid €1.5m/£1.2m for the loan.

And now an update has emerged in another fringe player in Harvey Elliott.

DaveOCKOP previously reported that RB Leipzig and the 22-year-old had postive discussions earlier this month.

Now Paul Joyce explains that RB Leipzig have made what is being described as “direct contact” with Liverpool over the signing of Harvey Elliott.

The Merseyside journalist took to X to report:

“RB Leipzig have made direct contact with Liverpool over Harvey Elliott as they line up a replacement for Xavi Simons. Simons is poised to join Tottenham Hotspur with Elliott now interesting the Bundesliga side. No bid has been submitted as yet.”

The 2024-25 season was a challenging one for Harvey Elliott, as he managed just two Premier League starts, both occurring after Liverpool had already clinched the title.

The German club views Elliott as the perfect creative replacement for the outgoing Xavi Simons, with reports indicating that personal terms between Leipzig and Elliott’s representatives have already been agreed.

Liverpool have valued Elliott in excess of £45 million.
