Firm resistance to Newcastle United offer – Confirmation from sources on situation

Earlier this month, Sport Witness were informed of Newcastle United interest in Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi.

We were told that while the Magpies made initial contact, a move is very difficult because of the Nerazzurri’s own plans for the midfielder.

Gianluca di Marzio now reports Newcastle United have offered an initial loan with an obligation to buy to Inter, with that obligation triggered by undefined terms.

Inter have offered firm resistance to this approach and they only want to sell the 25-year-old permanently for €40m this summer. If not that, they want terms of the obligation to buy to be met easily.

The journalist claims Newcastle United would have to move quickly to close a deal, as time is running out.

Sources have confirmed similar information to Sport Witness and we have been informed that it’s true Eddie Howe’s side have made an offer.

Inter’s resistance to the approach is also because manager Cristian Chivu sees the Italian as a key part of his project. With little time left, the Nerazzurri don’t want to deprive themselves and that is why a deal is complex.
