Ruben Amorim pre-match press conference LIVE: Manchester United boss speaks out ahead of Premier League showdown against Burnley

Speaking after the loss, Amorim apologised to United fans for his side's early exit, which realistically leaves them with only the FA Cup still to win this season - and the month of August not yet over.

Amorim said: ‘I just have to say sorry to our fans. The way we started the game, we were not even here.

'When everything is so important in our club, everything that happened, it's a problem in our club, we should do so much better.'

Amorim is scheduled to speak at 1:15pm - and we will be bringing you live coverage of his presser - but there is plenty to dissect before then.

Starting off with a quirky stat - Man United are now winless in their last four games against Grimsby Town - with only more winless runs coming against Arsenal and Tottenham (both seven games) and Sevilla (five games).

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Daily Mail Sport’s live blog of Ruben Amorim’s pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s match at home to Burnley on Saturday.

United are still winless after three games this season following their humiliating Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town.

New Order found fame with Blue Monday but it was certainly a Blue Wednesday for Amorim on Humberside.
