Cameroon international Carlos Baleba is set to stay put at Brighton and Hove Albion, according to the club’s manager Fabian Hurzeler.
Manchester United are known to be keen admirers of the 21-year-old, who is one of the top central midfielders in the English Premier League.
When asked if Baleba will stay at Brighton past Monday’s transfer deadline, even if a lucrative bid comes in, Hurzeler replied “yes.”
“If there is a number more than 100 [%], I would say more than 100, so fantastically confident,” said Hurzeler on the BBC.
In April 2025, Baleba scored an injury-time winner with a powerful shot outside the box in a 3-2 victory against West Ham United, which was later voted the Premier League Goal of the Month.
The Douala-born player is contracted to Brighton until June 2028 and he has earned seven caps for the Indomitable Lions so far.
