One'bomb squad'member could remain at Man United beyond British deadline day, setback for INEOS

Manchester United are scrambling to finalise multiple deals with less than a week left before the transfer window slams shut.

Man United brutally exiled five players into their infamous ‘bomb squad’ at the start of pre-season. This list included Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Sancho could still be at Man United after the window closes.

AS Roma are pushing to sign the 25-year-old, but Sancho is keeping his options open. Saudi Arabia and Turkey remain in the mix, with their windows staying open until the 10th and 11th of next month respectively.

Sancho has already spent the past 18 months drifting on loans at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

The Blues were obliged to sign him permanently but they were unable to reach an agreement on personal terms with the forward.

Chelsea decided to pay a penalty fee of £5 million to nullify the transfer.

Sancho pockets around £250,000 every week, a sum that underlines what is arguably the biggest transfer blunder in Old Trafford history.

Roma could offer him a lifeline, a chance to reignite a career that has nosedived since his big-money move to Manchester.

However, it looks like he is dreaming that an elite club will make him a late offer.

Sancho is an example of why having the correct mindset is more important than talent.

One of Turkey’s giants may yet make a last-gasp move, but there is no guarantee Sancho would even accept.

His current deal with the Red Devils runs until June 2026. He may choose to sit tight, bank his wages, and walk away on a free with a hefty signing bonus next summer.
