England head coach Thomas Tuchel has picked four Arsenal stars for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia in September.
The Three Lions have made the perfect start to the qualifying campaign with three wins out of three and will want to extend the streak next month.
Ahead of the qualifiers, Tuchel has named a strong 24-man squad including four Gunners stars.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has had a lively start to his England career under Tuchel, scoring on his senior debut against Albania earlier this year in March.
The youngster has since earned two more caps, and it is no surprise that he has retained his place in the England squad for the upcoming matches.
Alongside him, midfielder Declan Rice has made the cut. Rice has been ever-present in the England set-up for several years. His inclusion was a formality.
Alongside the duo, new summer signings Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke are in the squad, but there are no places for Ben White and Bukayo Saka.
White has been eager to play for the national side, but won’t be involved due to a ‘niggling injury‘ that will also keep him out of Sunday’s game at Liverpool.
Saka sustained a hamstring injury during the 5-0 rout of Leeds United at home. The Gunners graduate is expected to be on the sidelines for the next few weeks.
Arsenal take on Arne Slot’s Liverpool before the international break. The Gunners have not won at Anfield since September 2012, when they picked up a 2-0 victory.
The injury absence of Saka, White, Kai Havertz, Christian Norgaard and probably Martin Odegaard is not ideal, but the club have quality and depth following the spending spree.
Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line. There could be a new-look attack behind him. We would go with Gabriel Martinelli, Eze and Madueke/Nwaneri if Odegaard is ruled out.
