60 seconds on Bournemouth | Alexander Smith, Bournemouth Daily Echo

Welcome back to '60 seconds on...' a new match preview where we'll tap into the knowledge of the people who know our opponents inside out.

Next up, Bournemouth in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday - so a quick call into Alexander Smith, senior sports journalist at the _Bournemouth Daily Echo_, following the Cherries home and away.

What have you made of Bournemouth's season so far?

--------------------------------------------------

Alexander: "It's been up and down. Two good performances in the three games, one not so good. The good performances have brought a win (against Wolves) and defeat (4-2 at Anfield) but the Carabao Cup tie against Brentford (a 2-0 loss) was, frankly, a poor show. They'll want to bounce back, quickly."

It's well-documented that the team lost key defenders in the summer - Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Kepa - how have the club countered that?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexander: "They've recruited really well. In my eyes, they are a centre-back away from having a really good window. There's a new left-back in Adrien Truffert, replacing Kerkez, Bafodé Diakité also looks good at centre-back. Those two have hit the ground running. Djordje Petrovic also looks good in goal. There are teething problems, but I'm pretty sure they will be ironed out quickly."

Which of the new signings has caught the eye?

---------------------------------------------

Alexander: "Truffert looks really good, also Amine Adli, he looked good off the bench against Wolves, although he struggled against Brentford's low block on Tuesday night. I'm sure Ben Gannon Doak will be the same."

Alexander: "He's pretty much stayed true to his principles, although there has been some flexibility in midfield, more out of necessity than anything, with a couple of injuries and suspensions. Marcus Tavernier played a slightly different role in midfield with Tyler Adams to deal with that, but with Ryan Christie now back, I imagine he might come straight back into midfield, with him and Adams back alongside each other as they were last season."

Just how good is Antoine Semenyo?

---------------------------------

Alexander: "That was one of the best bits of business the club did this summer - tying him down to a new contract. He's one of those players who can conjure something out of nothing, as he showed at Anfield. He's a real asset and threat, one to keep an eye out for."

Would he be your 'one to watch' on Saturday?

--------------------------------------------

Alexander: "He's certainly one, but another would be Evanilson, who scored at Spurs in last season's 2-2, and had another goal disallowed. He's been playing well but is yet to score, so he will be keen to get off the mark."

What have you made of Spurs so far?

-----------------------------------

Alexander: "I've been impressed. The opening day win (3-0 vs Burnley), okay, it's against a promoted side, but to then back that up with a win at City was impressive. It looks like Thomas Frank is already making a big impact."

Finally, how do you think it will play out on Saturday?

-------------------------------------------------------

Alexander: "I think it will be a really good game, certainly for the neutrals. Both teams will want to give it a go. Cherries have struggled against teams who sit back, but Spurs aren't that team. It could be a game full of chances and goals."
