Man City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is expected to be fit to face Brighton this weekend.
The defender suffered an ankle injury during the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham last Saturday but he has been called up for his national team. Asked about the player’s fitness, Algerian boss Vladimir Petkovic said:
“Ait-Nouri had an injury. The doctors said it’s not serious. He has trained to join the group. Man City plan to have him play in the next match.”
Expected Return Date – Brighton (a) – Sunday 31st August
Josko Gvardiol
The Croatian international has been pictured back out on the training pitch, but he was not in the matchday squad to face Spurs last weekend.
Manager Pep Guardiola simply said that Gvardiol was “not ready” to play before the opening day fixture against Wolves.
No additional detail has been provided on the defender’s fitness, but it is not believed to be a serious issue.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
Savinho
The Brazilian sustained an unspecified injury during the one and only pre-season friendly against Palermo earlier this month.
Guardiola subsequently revealed that Savinho would be out of contention for at least a “few weeks”.
That suggests the forward won’t play for City again until after the next international break.
Expected Return Date – Manchester United (h) – Sunday 14th September
