Brentford bid ‘hasn’t completely blown away’ club – Seems likely to be rejected

Brentford’s offer for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman ‘hasn’t completely blown away’ the Dutch club and seems likely to be rejected.

That’s according to Voetbal International, who report that Brentford have made a multi-million bid for the midfielder.

A report earlier today stated that Brentford had moved for Veerman and made a big bid for him. The exact nature of the bid wasn’t made clear, but it was stated that PSV had put a €30m asking price on the 26-year-old.

VI offer no further details but report that PSV aren’t going to accept any bid without a second though. A concrete offer was made by Brentford on Friday but ‘hasn’t completely blown PSV away’.

The Dutch side would be eager to keep Veerman, particularly at this late moment in the transfer window. The player, for his part, is certainly open to a move to the Premier League. He has been linked with various foreign clubs in recent year but so far, no transfer has materialised.

Brentford have already done business in the Netherlands this summer, bringing in Antoni Milambo from Feyenoord and Jordan Henderson from Ajax. They also have Dutchman Sepp van Den Berg in their squad.

Now they could add a third addition in the form of Veerman, but it seems their first proposal hasn’t turned heads yet.
