Marseille are working on a deal to sign Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko (28), according to [**The** **Athletic’s**](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6499298/2025/08/29/zinchenko-arsenal-transfer-marseille/) **David Ornstein.** _Les Phocéens_ would be keen to land the Ukraine international, who has entered the final months of his four-year deal in North London. Nevertheless, Zinchenko’s wage demands could represent a stumbling block for Marseille’s decision-makers, club president Pablo Longoria and Director of Football Medhi Benatia.
Marseille, who will feature in the Champions League this season, were in the market for a left-back as former France youth international Quentin Merlin left the Vélodrome to sign for Ligue 1 rivals Stade Rennais. OM previously entertained a loan move for Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas and [they were set to sign West Ham United left-back Emerson Palmieri](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2025/emerson-palmieri-set-for-west-ham-contract-termination-before-joining-marseille/), but the Italy international’s move is yet to be confirmed by either party.
