Vitor Pereira delivers worrying Jorgen Strand Larsen update ahead of Wolves vs Everton

At times it was not clear if Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future remained at Molineux, but the Norwegian looks to be staying this season.

Wolves rejected two bids from Newcastle, who were desperate to sign a striker this summer. And then Jeff Shi delivered a final decision on the player.

Keeping the player was essential for the Old Gold and their survival chances this season, even if former Premier League players don’t think Strand Larsen’s price tag is fair.

However, manager Vitor Pereira has shared a worrying message ahead of Saturday’s game against Everton.

Vitor Pereira says Jorgen Strand Larsen has a small injury ahead of Everton game

Jorgen Strand Larsen is one of Wolves’ most important players, and having him miss out against Everton would be a crucial blow.

Now, Vitor Pereira has said in his Everton pre-match press conference that Strand Larsen is ‘dealing with a small injury.’

The Wolves manager did not confirm whether he is ruled out or not, simply stating that he ‘hope[s] he can play’ in Saturday’s game.

The Norwegian recently turned the Old Gold’s fortunes around with two quick-fire goals against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Going without the player would be a nightmare scenario, but the Portuguese manager could have some solutions at his disposal if so.

Sasa Kalajdzic could start up top for Wolves against Everton if Strand Larsen ruled out

If Strand Larsen isn’t available, Sasa Kalajdzic could be an option for Vitor Pereira. The Austrian would provide a similar physical presence to Larsen.

A deal for Tolu Arokodare is underway, but would not be able to take part against Everton even if announced on Friday.

Fabio Silva is set to join Borussia Dortmund, leaving Hwang Hee-chan as another option to lead the line.

However, with defenders such as James Tarkowski and Jake O’Brien being physical defenders, Kalajdzic seems like the right option.

Ideally, Jorgen Strand Larsen is fit and Vitor Pereira won’t have to make a decision up top.
